This beautiful native woodland flower will do perfectly well in most gardens, but in the wild it prefers slightly acidic soil and light shade.

To take advantage of the exceptionally large source of bluebell seed within our plantations, we have set up a number of raised beds with the express purpose of producing bluebell bulblets and bulbs in bulk quantities.

All bulbs and bulblets are the native bluebell Hyacinthoides non-scripta and have been grown from our own seed in raised beds and thus do not contribute to the harmful and illegal denudation of wildwood bulb stocks.

Four year old bulbs will flower in the Spring after Autumn planting and so are suitable for use in gardens. Younger bulbs are less well developed and so will take a year or two to flower. As such the younger bulbs present a cheaper alternative for mass-planting in conservation schemes and for large-scale establishment in both existing woodlands and new woodland projects, and for motorway planting as landscaped tree plantings become mature.
